< Gail & William Irwin notes>
Was a womaniser/gambler/alcoholic? Was written out of his fathers will in 1914 in favour of John Due to Johns ill health (from WW1) took over the family business and ultimately lost it. There was evidence of a family split. L.W. is referred toas Larry the thief by older members of Gareth Farrier's family and was apparently a bit of a waster.

Lived in Coventry England during WWII. Used to drive her mother crazy by sneaking out to the movies then making her way home during air raids. Worked building Spitfires and other Aircraft.

After coming to this country, she was trying to learn the names of American cars and at the same time trying to learn the different names we use for other thing like vegetables. She wanted to make soup and needed a Swede's turnip or Rhutabaga in Amreican. She aked Robert when he was heading out to pick up a Studebaker at the grocery store. He asked if she wanter the steering wheel, tires, or what.
