about July 1658 (or perhaps after 1661 at Block Island). He died 1753 in his 96th year at Wrentham, but perhaps the age is exaggerated. He was of Dedham where two of his mother's sisters lived when he married there Jun.26,1688 by Rev. Peter Thatcher of Milton, Hannah Fairbanks. He married 2nd, Mary Mann.

Samuel Deering first appears in records at his marriage in Braintree in 1647 to Bethiah Baxter.

Samuel Deering became one of the original proprietors at Block Island, Washington County, Rhode Island in 1661 and resided there until 1675 or later, then returned to Braintree. It is probable that one or more of his children were born at Block Island, but not recorded there. It is said that his widow was ordered by the court before her second marriage to keep the estate for the seven youngest children till of age, but this cannot now be found in the probate records of his estate which include only his inventory and a bond of the widows.

No lands of Samuel Deering were recorded in Braintree, but in 1663 he sold part of a lot in East Braintree on Monatiquot or Fore River. In 1695 John2 Baxter deeded land to Bethiah Nightingale, the daughter of his deceased sister Bethiah Deering.
