He was elected surveyor of highways 1733, tithingman 1734, fenceviewer 1736, constable 1739 but refused it, surveyor of highways 1741, tithingman 1742, selectman 1743,1744 for So. Precinct, 1745,1746 for So. part, tithingman 1749, surveyor of highways 1751. He resided in South Precinct near present Division & Pine Sts., Holbrook and No. Franklin St. His son in law Thomas Belcher inherited the house and 12 acres bounded by Pine, Division, and No. Franklin Sts., being the northern part of the homestead.
