Austin Clark (sic) probably meant for Atkins Clark was elected hogreave 1774, and Atkins Clark was hogreave 1783, fire warden 1785-91, surveyor of lumber, 1789,1791-2, surveyor of highways 1792.

He joined the church at Danvers Mar.4,1749/50 from Wenham. Hobart Clark joined Middle Precinct Church Feb.8,1761 "by recommendation", was dismissed at Danvers to 2nd church, Bra., Feb.1,1761.

He was fenceviewer 1758, constable 1770-1775, selectman 1782-9. In 1768 a way was proposed to run from Thomas French's to Hobart Clark's house & then to the county road nigh James Thayer's shop. Lived near corner of Adams & Commercial Sts., where the playground now is. Erected a fulling mill on the river near his residence says S.A. Bates.
