38-147 Inventory, Jun.14,1745 by Richard Thayer, Seth Copeland & Thomas Hollis £136/10/4.

He inherited his father's homestead, East Braintree, was elected selectman 1693,1707,1714,1715, tithingman 1695,1696,1709,1710,1723, fenceviewer for Neonatiquot 1699, hogreave 1721, assessor, 1706.

He was the first deacon of the church in present Braintree, later called the Middle Parish or Second Parish. In the Register Vol 54 P.349 is a note which shows conclusively that Dea. Joseph Allen had a wife Rebecca Leader, and not Ruth Leader as erroneously given in several entries in the town records.
(not Ruth as in the Braintree V.R. p.718). This error corrected in the Register 54-350.
