She deposed Nov.4,1701, aged about 78 that she came over with her father Richard Wright in the first fleet 1630. (Register Vol.31).

Both Leach and Spear say that Abigail, widow of Robert Sharp, marrie d Nicholas Clapp; Savage repeats that. But Torrey places Abigail as th e second wife of Nicholas' brother Thomas, and Sprague's "Braintree Genea logies" supports that. Thomas' will confirms that his second wife was na med Abigail. Circumstantial evidence supports the idea that Abigail (Wri ght) Sharp did indeed marry Thomas Clapp. Robert Sharp died in 1655/1656 , leaving Abigail with three young children. It would be practical fo r a relatively young widow to remarry promptly, and Nicholas Clapp did no t take his second wife until 1667.
On 4 November 1701 Abigail, aged about 78, deposed that she came ove r with her father Richard Wright in the first fleet in 1630.
