He was the first male member of the Wilson family for six generations who did not have a liberal education or take a profession, and was called a yeoman, and not prominent in town affairs. In March 1717 he was sued by his father in law for £18/10/ for not supporting his wife and children who were neglected for over a year, and did not even reside on the Wilson farm, parts of which he sold off, the last sale and mention of him being on Jul.29,1754 (S.D.87-112). He held no town office.
