He was a Revolutionary soldier, was a miller, lived on the homestead of his father and grandfather, which was sold by his heirs in 1814 (N.D. 47-163). He was elected hogreave in 1754 and 1760, fenceviewer 1761, surveyor of highways 1755 and 1779 for the Middle Precinct, tithingman 1766 and 1782, constable 1779 but was excused from serving.
