He was elected surveyor of highways 1790, resided on Center St. Holbrook, east side at top of the hill north of Union St. where his house built 1833 is still (1952) standing. His son Moses lived there in 1857 says Dr. Alden. Rev. Soldier.

He lived on Commercial St., Penn's Hill, west side of the curve half way up the hill, the house now standing (1955), much altered. He was a butcher in 1850 census, Captain in War of 1812.

Resided on his uncle Joseph3 (Ebenezer2) White's place on Commercial St., known as the Webb place later.
He made his will 16 Feb. 1793, proved at Boston, 12 Mar. 1793. He mentions his daughter Mary Vose, wife of Nathan Vose of Milton, blacksmith, his daughter Hannah Adams, wife of Lemuel Adams of Milton, tanner, to have the estate which he purchased of Stephen Badlam, Esq., of Dorchester, his daughter Silence, wife of Jonathan Swift of Andover, tanner, his daughter Sarah, wife of Daniel Baxter of Quincy, gentleman, his daughter Miriam, wife of Benjamin Hayden, Jr., of Braintree, trader, lands in Braintree, formerly the estate of Ebenezer White, his daughter Deborah White, his daughters Mary, Hannah, Silence, Sarah, Miriam, and Deborah household stuff, except clock and silver, which he gives to son John White. His son John to have his homestead farm and mansion, he to be executor. Witnesses: Cotton Tufts, Samuel Reed and John Collins. (Suffolk Probate, 92:126.)
