Clement Weaver was early settled at Weymouth, and had lands granted to him there.
The General Court fined him ten shillings for drunkeness 2 June 1640, and Mr. Barnard for giving him strong water while at work at Barnard's house, on the same date. (Mass. Bay Colony Records, I:297)
He removed to Newport, R. I., as early as 1655. He is called Sergt. Clement Weaver, Sr.
He married Mary Freeborn and had several children. On 20 Oct. 1683, Samuel Hubbard of Newport wrote: "Old Weaver is dead, near an hundred years old."

He made his will 2 May 1783, and it was proved 13 Feb. 1810. He mentions therein his wife Ruth, his daughters Susanna Rawson, Ruth Webb, Rebecca Ripley; son Samuel Webb to Have gristmill and real estate. (Norfolk Probate, 19503.)

Peter & Ruth Webb owned the covenant in 1684 and she was admitted to full communion Dec.28,1684.
He was a miller & had a corn mill at Elm & Middle Sts. Braintree, the site of the iron works forge.
He was elected fenceviewer 1703,1709, surveyor of highways 1704, tithingman 1708, constable 1712 but refused to serve, and 1717 and refused again, was on a committee to find out the land grant to the town in 1713, was selectman 1716.

[2220] Here/lies ye body of/Priscilla Hayde-/wife of Saml/Hayden age/35 dyed 29/1731 (on back side) - rough granite gravestone Central Cemetery, Randolph - highly illegible.
also a stone next to above - Priscila (age 1y.).
also a stone, rough granite, no visible insciption now, died Aug. 25, 1731, and is oldest dated stone in Central Cemetery, says Wm. H. Woodman.
