When he completed his WWI draft form, he was living in the Empire Hotel in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington and working as a ranch hand. *** He said he was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on 25 April 1895. *** During 1920 census, he was a private in the Marine Corps and stationed in Solano County, California.
