He was elected constable 1743, and 1744 but declined to serve. A way through his farm , now Plain St., So. Braintree was laid out in 1758.

S.P.82-303: Will of John Thomas, Mar.4,1782, proved Apr.14,1783:

He sold his homestead at Braintree in 1781 to John Hollis and removed to South Weymouth.

At least seven more children were baptized at So. Weymouth - see Hist. Wey. Vol.4, p.650.

She owns the portrait (which she believes is by Copley) of Gen. Ebenezer6 Thayer of Braintree a brother of Alden Thorndike's great great grand mother Rebecca (Thayer) Soper
