Left Braintree, via Cape Horn May 26,1853 on ship "White Swallow", a trip of 150 days to California and was residing there at Weaverville in Mar.1932, aged 99 (sic) (97) years.

He left a will calling himself a druggist, of Dorchester, dated May 24,1867, proved Aug.31,1867, giving all the estate to wife Elizabeth S. Thayer for life and then to my children who may be living at her decease. She was executor and bonded with E.F.E. Thayer and F.A. Hobart of Braintree. Witnesses were Rachel B. Thayer and J.F. Dunham.

They joined the church at Randolph Apr.6,1842. They lived on the north side of Grove St. in Randolph. He was a boot maker, died intestate, left a widow Hannah and four children.
Wales Thayer was made administrator, Mar.4,1848 (N.P. 81-387). A division of his land was made Mar.29,1848 to the mother and four children, only heirs, Wales, Henry, Martin, and James Thayer (N.D. 179-61).

died an untimely death" Dec.7,1705 - Marshall's Diary says he "laid violent hands on himself".
Thomas3 Thayer seems to have become despondent over the deaths of his two sons in 1704.
Abigail wife of Thomas Thayer was admitted to full communion Jun.13,1686 and her three children were all baptized Aug.15,1686. She was made administrator of his estate Oct.8,1713 (S.P. 18-176).
William Penniman Jr. made oath that he had a deed from his grandfather Thomas Thayer of the estate whereon he lives and that his mother left with him (S.P. 16-293 N.S.), dated Jun.19,1732.
Dec.12,1727 Thomas White and wife Abigail quit claimed to William Penniman the homestead of Thomas and Abigail Thayer, deceased 30 acres, etc. This homestead of Thomas2 Thayer and his Penniman descendants was on Middle St. north of River St. The house, the oldest in Braintree is now (1950) standing, removed to Jersey Ave. (after 1876); demolished 1955 +/-.
He was elected fenceviewer 1685,1698, tithingman for Monatiquot 1699 and 1703.
