born Feb.2,1752 (according to Thayer Gen. (1876) and Hist. of Braintree, Vt.).
It seems probable that his birth date should read Feb.2,1753.
died aged 59yrs. 8mo. (V.R.).
He was a Revolutionary Soldier 1775 and his widow applied for a pension in Nov.1837 (R. 10487) and she stated that he was in service in 1776 when their first child was born Jun.4,1776 and second child was born Jan.14,1778, third child born Mar.29,1780. She was living in June 1846 aged 90 and her son Abel Thayer applied in 1852 for pension due but not received in her lifetime, but the government replied that his service was not confirmed.
Levi Thayer resided on North St. in Randolph north of Oak St., but when Randolph was set off from Braintree he objected and was taxed in Braintree until he removed in 1808 to Braintree, Vermont. His will was also filed in Norfolk Co. and was dated Apr.22,1812, proved Jun.30,1812 in Vermont, copy filed in Mass. Mar.1,1814. He mentions his wife Hannah, son Levi, son Alpha, daughter Hannah Hobart, daughter Mary Thayer, a minor, and sons Zenas, Abel & Otis Thayer.
