He was a Revolutionary Soldier 1775. Resided on the N.E. side of Peach St. on a portion east of the R.R. now discontinued. House shown on the 1832 map, near Washington St.
Nathaniel Thayer 2nd was made administrator of his estate Dec.16,1814 and made guardian of Elihu Thayer, over 14. Hannah Thayer, widow was made guardian of Sarah Thayer, under

He resided on his father's estate on North just of Peach St., now discontinued.
He left a will dated Jan.15,1825, proved Feb.8,1825 giving to wife Lydia improvement of the estate while a widow and 2/3 of real estate at her decease to son Calvin, and remainder to daughters Lydia & Juliann Thayer equally.

Braintree records say "he was attacked with a billious to which succeeded a nervous fever with which he was confined about ten days. He had sustained the office of Adjutant of the regiment, was Captain of a Cavalry and Sheriff of the County at the day of his exit." He resided on Elm St., north side, at "Abel's place", land which had formerly belonged to Abel5 Thayer, (Zachariah4Nathaniel3Richard2-1).
He died intestate and his widow's dower was set off, including the mansion house etc. which had been purchased of Samuel M. Thayer. Dr. Stephen Thayer of Boston, apothecary, was made administrator with the widow and was made guardian of the two daughters.
He was elected fenceviewer 1789-92 and probably later.
