He was a merchant and major in the militia, resided on Commercial St., East Braintree at E. corner of Allen St. until 1811 then bought house of Jonathan Derby opposite Quincy Ave. where he had a brick store until he died.
A Trader in 1850 census, had a country store, near his residence.
He was selectman 1814-1821 & 1827-1833, Representative 1824,1825,1830. He was boarded as an infant by Eliot Clark until 1780, then by Nathaniel Capen until aged 14 and then bound out to him until aged 21.
