m. Jul.-,1745 - Mayhew. Her grand father Nathaniel Spear in his will Mar.5,1727/8 mentions "my little grand daughter Bethiah Spear, daughter of my son David, deceased", to have £10 at age 18 or day of marriage. - He does not mention a grand child Rachel.

He was a cordwainer, lived on the east side of present Pond Lane, Randolph, but sold his homestead Nov.2,1770, but his widow's dower set out in 1777 shows he was still at that location. He was elected hogreave 1757, surveyor of highways 1770.
S.P.74-138: Elizabeth Spear, widow, made administrator of Daniel Spear, cordwainer & bonded with Benjamin Silvester of Stoughton & Joseph Baxter, cordwainer, Oct.14,1774.
76-8: Timothy Spear, yeoman made administrator of Daniel Spear, cordwainer & bonded with Benjamin Stetson, Royal Collock of Stoughtonham, gent., May 23,1777.
76-343, Inventory: The old house & new frame £120 & 20 acres Jun.3,1777, taken by Thomas Penniman, Eliphalet Sawin & Joseph Howard.
76-287: Dower of widow Elizabeth set off Aug.23,1777, 6 1/2 a. with old house & small orchard, beginning at the road at the corner of Samuel Spear's field & running Southerly by sd. road 11 rods, then running Ely. between the old house & new frame 7 rods, then running Sly. 3 rods, then Ely. to a heap of stones near the brook, thence a "strait" course to Benjamin Stetson's pasture, then Nly. by his land 14 rods to Samuel Spear's land, then Wly. as the fence stands to the road, & she is to fetch water at the well in the other part at all times, etc.

86-99, Feb.27,1787: Receipt given to Capt. Jonathan Thayer, adm. of Daniel Spear for £24/12/2 is what said estate sold for exclusive of the widow's thirds still in her possession, Signed by Stephen Penniman as admtr. of Timothy Spear & as attorney to Lemuel Spear.
S.P.85-53, Feb.7,1786: Stephen Penniman Esq. made administrator of Timothy Spear, tanner, & bonded with Daniel French, yeoman, & Daniel Spear, yeoman.

Braintree V.R. give Rachel dau. of Deering & Deborah who was baptized Aug.18,1723, in which case David Spear had no wife Deborah -.
Child of David & Deborah born at Braintree (sic)
Rachel... Apr.9,1723, not mentioned in grand father's will. Probably error for dau. of Deering Spear.
