He was voted 10 shillings "for looking after the boyes at meeting" - Aug.2,1697, was elected constable 1704. He was a weaver. Resided on Franklin St. east side at foot of Pervis Hill.

He was elected surveyor of highways in 1776, the only town office he ever held. In May 1762 he bought a house 54 acres of Jonathan Wales on present No. Main St., Randolph which became his homestead and that of his descendants for many years
