Direct quote from obituary:
The following scrap of her history is taken from the Maryville, Missouri Democrat: The history of a lady, Mrs. Elizabeth R uhl, residing south of Maryville two miles, is quite interesting. She has attai ned the age of 98 years and 6 months. She was born and raised in Baltimore Coun ty, Maryland. She and her husband emigrated to Ohio in 1814, remaining there un til the year 1868, when she and one of her sons came to Missouri. This old lady had raised 17 children, 3 daughters and 14 sons; she has 87 grandchildren and 121 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. She lived on one far m in Ohio more than 53 years. Seven of her sons mowed together in the same fiel d. She has been a member of the Lutheran church for more than 75 years. She has been a widow for 38 years and has been blind for over 20 years. She is drawing a pension for the service of her husband in the War of 1812. Her father, Mr. P rosser, drove a continental wagon in the Revolutionary War. Until within the la st two or three weeks Mrs. Ruhl has been able to walk from one room to another, but for several days she has been confined to her bed though she does not seem to be suffering much pain. (undated newspaper clipping in scrapbook owned by K enneth Dudly, Bellville, Ohio). The son with whom she moved to Missouri was Wil liam Ruhl.
