Nicholas Phillips of Weymouth, husbandman, "being weak~" made his will 14 Apr. 1749; it was proved 26 Mar. 1751. To his daughter Mary Badlam E80, L50 of which his son-in-law Samuel Badlam has in his hands. To his daughter Nfary Badlarn his silver tankard. To his grandsons Samuel and William Badlam one-half of cedar swamp in Braintree. To his grandchildren (children of his daughter Mercy, deceased, viz., John Kingman, Elisha Kingman, Daniel Kingman, Mary Blanchard, Hannah Kingman, Mercy Kingman and Lydia Kingman, each flo. To my grandchildren (children of my daughter Hannah, deceased), viz., Hannah Tirrell, Mary Tirrell and Bathsheba Bisby, to each Z10. To his maid Elizabeth Penny one cow and the keeping while she live unmarried, and use of house. To his grandsons Nicholas Phillips and William Phillips his homestead, buildings, stock, etc., at 21 years. James Pettee of Weymouth, executor. Elizabeth (Phinney) Bradford, 2nd wife of Dr. Benjamin Ludden was born - (bapt. 1695 at Bristol), died - (alive Oct.1746) D.D.38-122, daughter of Jonathan & Joanna (Kinnicut) Phinney of Bristol & Swansea. (See Mayflower Descendant Vol.23 for proof).

She is called of Jay, Maine in 1820 when she was legatee under the will of Mary (Blackman) Glover widow of Josiah Glover who died at Chelsea, buried at Quincy, and daughter of Thomas Blackman Jr. of Stoughton.

D.L. Pierce came from Groton, was a stone cutter, resided in the Abner Joy house on Liberty St. south of Middle St., west side, and left town about 1830, says S.A. Bates.

Ephraim Pierce was son of Capt. Michael Pierce of Hingham and Scituate, as is proved by the will of Michael Pierce dated* 15 Jan. 1675: "To my son Ephraim's two children Eserikum. Pierce. and Ephraim Pierce to each" E15 at 21, provided my son Ephraim or any of his do not molest my son John of three or four acres in Hingham, .. which my father James gave unto my said son Ephraim." (Pierce Gencalogy, 1889, p. 34.) He removed from Weymouth to Warwick, R. I., about 1680.
