She was Not Lydia White a sister of the first wife as stated in all published accounts.(Proof that she was Lydia Neale, not White is found in Worcester Deeds 35-101). Joseph Neale's will dated Mar.13,1733 also mentions a daughter Lydia Neale, then single.

Revolutionary Soldier 1775, though under 14 yrs. of age, taken prisoner on privateer Essex and jailed at Dartmouth, England for 7 months 1781. Released by John Adams, went to France and returned to Delaware Bay where the ship was burned by the enemy, walked all the way home arriving Oct.16,1782. For a biography of his life written by his grandson see Quincy Patriot of Dec.16,1848.

He was elected surveyor of highways 1759,1765,66,68,1771,72,74,75,1781,1785, fenceviewer 1767,1773, constable 1758,1769,1771 and was on several committees, in 1768 to let out half of Moon Island for gunning, in 1774 committee of Observation and Inspection, 1777 on one on an act to prevent monopoly, and had poll taxes remitted during his three year service in Rev. War, and was Town Moderator 1783
