In 1697 he was called "vintnor", was elected surveyor of highways 1699 "for the town" (now Quincy) and in 1711, in 1701 he was voted £3 for repairing the meeting house, was town moderator 1706,1713,1719, Selectman 1707-9 & 1714, & Representative 1709,10,12,16,18, & 1721. Lived on father's place.

(bapt. Jan.28). He was elected fenceviewer 1727, constable 1732 but excused, and surveyor of highways 1750 but released from it. He died about Mar.1768, single.
Will of John4 (John3-2-1) Mills, sadler, Mar.15,1734/5 proved Mar.18,1768.
To mother Hannah & sister Elizabeth Mills improvement of whole estate except the house in which my sister Wilson now dwells, for life & to my said sister if in a single state not having been married at my mother's decease, the improvement of one room so long as she remains unmarried.
All money to be divided between my mother, my brother & all my sisters then surviving & the moveables to my three sisters Hannah Wilson, Elizabeth Mills & Sarah Neal. To my brother Rev. Jonathan Mills & his heirs the whole of my housing & lands at mother's decease reserving to sister Elizabeth as above. To brother my wearing apparel & pew in the new meeting house. To sister Hannah wife of Roger Wilson improvement of the house where she now dwells & to be kept in repair for her by my executors & £10 at her mother's decease. To sister Elizabeth Mills £100 at mother's decease & one cow to be wintered & kept for her. To sister Sarah wife of Joseph Neal £30 at her mother's decease. Brother Jonathan Mills executor.

He graduated at Harvard in 1723.
Mr. Jonathan Mills was dismissed to Bellingham church Feb.12,1726/7 "the Sabbath but one before his ordination." - Ch.Rec. Dismissed there in 1737, resided in Boston, installed at Second Church, Harwich in Mar.1766. He also kept school in Chelmsford & Braintree & preached at Ware, among other places & Provincetown.
