They resided in E. Braintree at Weymouth line, e. side of Commercial St. near Smelt Brook where he built a house in 1800.
No births on Weymouth records, but several children unnamed died there, viz., twin daughter died 17 Apr. 1798; twin son, 14 May, 1798; a son, 19 Nov. 1802, aged 2 years, and a daught 1 Aug. 1807, aged 4 years. He resided in the North Parish. A Braintree Stephen and Rhoda Lovell lived from 1795 to 1803, and attended the North Parish of Weymouth.

He commanded the Penobscot expedition in the Revolutionary War, 1779; served as colonel at Dorchester Heights, 1776; commanded a brigade in the battle of Rhode Island, and represented Weymouth in the General Court several years. (For details of his life and his Journal, 15 July, 1779, to 14 Aug. 1779, see publication of the Weymouth Historical Society, No. I by Gilbert Nash 1881.)
General Lovell made his will, 13 Jan. 1798, and it was proved 10 Nov.1801. He mentions his eldest daughter Lydia Beals, his daughter Hannah Lovell to have the place Ebenezer Hunt lives on, daughter Mary Wild, son James Lovell residue except two silver pon-ingers which were given by their grandmother Pittee to Hannah and Mary. His widow married (3) at Weymouth, 27 June, 1821, Capt. Josiah, Bass of Quincy.
He made his will 4 Jan. 1817, and it was proved 9 May, 1820. In it he mentions his sister Lydia Beale, his sister Hannah Little, lands formerly belonging to estate of Daniel Torrey, his mortgage on a part of Thomas Colson's estate, the wharf purchased of Samuel Arnold, formerly the town's, the estate lately purchased of Gideon L. Thayer, Esq., formerly the late Levi Bates's, on which the hay-' scales stand, his sister Mary Wildes, Ager's woodlot, so called, in the South Parish, a mortgage on Samuel Badlam's estate, pew No, 41 in the North Parish, formerly Samuel Kingman's, Priscilla, his wife, residue of estate, excepting silver left by his ancestors, pewter, and old clock, desk and bookcase which was his father's to his sisters Hannah and Mary; the sons of his sister Hannah and Mary.
