Resided on Middle St. on estate of John2 Hollis until 1818 when he sold, removed to Washington St. He was elected surveyor of highways 1791 for the Middle Precinct. In 1804 he built a large house now standing (1955) south of Union St., said to be the largest house in town when built.

- a child of John Hollis died Dec.24,1795 "with the throat distemper".
Eunice & Susan Hollis were baptized Sep.2,1832.

Resided on Washington St. opposite Webster Road in house said to have been built by Rev. Ezra Weld & later occupied by late Dr. T.H. Dearing. House standing now (1950), also owned a place on West St. west of Five Corners. He was elected surveyor of highways 1774,1776, fenceviewer 1777, surveyor of highways 1779,1791, field driver also 1791.

He was elected hogreave 1733, surveyor for middle precinct 1738,1748, on a committee 1753 for schools in middle precinct, surveyor of lumber 1760, on a committee for hiring for the War 1777, elected Captain of the Militia 1778

It seems to be this Daniel Hollis who was at Williamsburgh and taxed there in 1772 but returned to Braintree where in 1777 he bought of Edward Faxon the old Josiah Faxon house, north of Mill Brook & So. of Common St. In 1790 census on Franklin St. Penn's Hill with 1-2-6. Probably living in the Pres. John Adams birth place then.

D. Norton Hollis resided on Washington St. at south corner of Webster Ave. where Hollis School now stands. David N. Hollis in 1850 census was a butcher.

Resided in his brother's place on Washington St. opposite Webster Road where Dr. T.H. Dearing later resided. Was elected deacon of Braintree Church Sep.1,1814, was a farmer in 1850.

First five children baptized 1812, Sarah 1814, Eunice 1818.

Lived on his father's and grandfather's place on Middle St. In 1834 he built a new house now standing about 20 feet south of the old place which he then tore down. It was later occupied about 1890 by Benjamin Hawes. J.A. Hollis on 1856 map.
