Dr. Ebenezer Alden says Gideon Herrick resided in Randolph and at death in 1780 (error) in Stoughton Corner (Avon) on present Page St., died in the winter when snow was too deep in the road and was taken across fields on a sled. Had son Gideon bapt. 1763 and said to have had Lois. No son Gideon is found in present town copy of missing church records. A Gideon Herrick was a Rev. Soldier in 1779 or 1780

He was a miller on Commercial St. East Braintree in 1850 near Rev. Jonas Perkins place on n. side west of Mill St. where Albert Hobart later built & occupied. With brother Arnold built the Arnold Towers on N.W. corner of Washington St. & Central Ave. where they were living in 1803
