He removed to South Precinct where he acquired after 1719 the "Bendall Farm" in present Randolph west of Cross St. and south of Canton St., a large tract of 200 acres with present Chestnut St. running through the northern part. He owned at least 100 acres of it but no deeds of it are on record. (W.H. Woodman)
He was elected surveyor of highways 1726, constable 1729, tithingman 1733,1738, surveyor of highways 1740.

Inventory - in files - but no record in books.
Benjamin Hayward Jr. died sometime before Mar.10,1752 at which time the late constables Joseph Hayward his brother, and Aaron Hayward, and Deering Spear were all allowed rebates on taxes due from Benjamin Hayward Jr., deceased. He probably died away from Braintree.
Joseph Hayward was elected constable in 1748.

To wife Polly.
To dau. Margery White wife of Calvin, the house she lives in which I bought of Ebenezer Thayer.
To grandson Daniel Hayward 5 acres which I bought of Elizabeth Hayward.
To granson Eliphaz Thayer.
To son Jonathan the mansion house & homeplace at wife's decease & a shed at Rev. Storr's meeting house.
Proof of his marriage at age of 16 lies in the will of widow Ann (Waldo) (Fitch) Wales dated 1798, in which she bequeaths to her grand daughter Ann Field wife of Gilford Field and in the fact that Ann Field was also heir of Nathaniel Wales. Also Daniel Hayward had land adjoining that of Nathaniel Wales on the easterly side.

He was a school teacher, grocer, and druggist, resided in New York, East Braintree, and died at South Braintree on Hancock St. He was chosen deacon Oct.19,1854, and was town clerk 1870-3, selectman 1850-2 & postmaster. He was a farmer in 1850 census.
