No record of deaths but they sold their homestead in Mar. 1762 on present No. Main St. Randolph, north of Mt. Pleasant Square. He was an early settler in the South Precinct where he had a large farm, his first homestead being on the eastern end of the tract on North St. opposite Central Cemetery, and later at the western end of No. Main St., north of Pleasant Square.

There is no documentary proof of his parentage, his death record not giving any, but it agrees exactly with his birth record and it says he was born in Braintree, was a cordwainer. He was a shoe maker, a. 77 in 1850 census of Quincy. Lived 1825-1827 in So. half of the J.Q. Adams birthplace where Mrs. Hayden opened an apothecary shop, probably the first in Quincy - Reminiscences of John Crane 1898. Then in 1827 removed to W. half of Gideon French Thayer house built that year on Washington St. where Crane Library now is & where she died & kept shop.

He was elected hogreave 1770, assizor of bread 1781,1782.
Built a house in 1777 on Washington St. east side nearly opposite Vernon Ave. standing unaltered until 1950 when it was entirely rebuilt though appearing much as before, one story.
S.P.18245, Apr.17,1784 - John Vinton appointed administrator of Zebah Hayden who died leaving widow Sarah & four children (Sep.13,1784).
S.P.19325, 88-348, Aug.1789 - Caleb French appointed guardian of Sarah & Abigail over 14, Zeba, Asa, & Percia, under 14, children of Zebah Hayden, deceased & bonded with Stephen Penniman & John Vinton.

buried beside 2nd wife, but has no stone.
He resided in the North Parish until after his second marriage when he removed to present Randolph where he resided near the corner of present Oak & Orchard Sts., east of the brook on Orchard St. His family bible was owned by descendants and gives dates not on town records. In 1726 he was bound out as an apprentice to Dea. John Adams and the paper which was in the possession of his grandson Thomas was signed by his mother and himself. He was a cordwainer. He was elected sealer of leather 1742, selectman 1747 & 9, constable 1750, fenceviewer 1752, tithingman 1756, surveyor of highways 1757,1759
