Will of Samuel Hayden of Norwalk, Conn. dated Aug. 21, 1775, proved there Sep. 7, 1775 mentions wife Phebe, sons John, Samuel, Alpheus, Jacob, daughters Priscilla, Mary, Esther, Eunice, & Phebe.

Samuel Hayden was in the War against King Philip with the Suffolk Troops and was at the Great Swamp Fight Dec.19,1675. Administration of his estate was given to widow Hannah Oct.31,1676, inventory taken Oct.26.

Katherine, Hannah & Patience were baptized Jul.10,1685, and Susanna Hayden, & Sarah Wild, daughter of Hannah Paddleford were baptized May 8,1692.

Samuel Hayden, aged 56, baptized at Christ Church Sep.19,1734 and son Jacob son of Samuel & Elizabeth baptized Sep.26,1734.
In Dec.1737 he was living in a house on a 120 acre farm owned by Col.. Edmund Quincy bought of Samuel Sewall as mentioned in Col.. Quincy's will which was inherited by his daughter Dorothy Wendall. It was probably east of Pond St. Braintree at Randolph line.

48-456 - Account Nov.23,1753 mentions improvement of the Real Estate for 8 years.
70-159 - James Penniman, attorney to Clement Hayden, administrator of his father Samuel, Nov.16,1770, Land - 4 or 5 acres sold at residue to Benjamin Bass.

was a bootmaker at Braintree in 1850 census on Washington St.
Resided on west side of street in a house now (1892) occupied by A.A. Pitkin says S.A. Bates, built by him & brother T.A.
Hayden, was a shoe manufacturer known as "Boss Hayden".

He was a brick layer, resided in Boston, but children were baptized in Braintree. Samuel Hayden 2nd baptized Jun.-1828. He was a mason aged 75 years in 1850 census at Braintree, Samuel Hayden 2nd. Resided on Washington St. near Capen's Bridge. Called Samuel Hayden 2nd because he was three months younger than Samuel5 (Robert4, Benjamin3, Nehemiah2) Hayden

a Baby.... died 1874.
Samuel Hayden, a.20, a ledgeman, with mother Mary Hayden "about 50" lived in same house with Benjamin Hayden a.28, stone cutter and wife Edna a.23, in 1850 census near present Newcomb Square in Quincy (then Braintree).
He was a granite cutter at death, s. Samuel & - & had son W.M. Hayden the informant & Herbert A. the informant at her death. On same gravestone is Alden B. Hayden 1859-1862 & baby died 1874.
In 1870 census he was a.39, stone cutter & Mary L. a.34. They had then Mary L. aged 17, Charles W. aged 15, William A. aged 13, Alden Bradford aged 7, Herbert A. aged 3, & Walter M. born Apr.-1870 who m. Clara B. - & had Blanch Bradford born May 31,1896
