Nehemiah Hayden Sr. admitted to full communion Oct.7,1697, Hannah, his wife, Mar.30,1690, and then children Nehemiah, Samuel, Benjamin, John, Anna & Mary bapt. Oct.4,1691. He was selectman 1706-1716. He was elected surveyor of highways 1693, tithingman 1696, surveyor for Monatiquot 1750, selectman 1706 to 1713 inc.,1716, moderator 1717. Resided on Washington St., Braintree, west side, north of West St. until before 1700 when he went to Pond St. east of Town St. He was in King Philip's War 1675 (Reg. Vol.37).

mentions all the children as living except Mary, deceased.
To wife Hannah one end of dwelling house for life & a cow & £6 a year & half of moveables.
Eldest son Nehemiah land bounded by Nath'l Thayer, the Frenches & so on the Pond, 4a. swamp at Frenches Swamp, 8a. woodland bounded by Josiah Hobart & John Ruggles, Ebenezer Thayer & my own land.
To son Samuel 1/2 of house he lives in and 30a. land adjoining.
To son Benjamin my dwelling house & all lands adjoining, he to pay out of it £20 to dau. Rachel Payne, & my son in law Samuel Hayden.
To son John house he lives in & 25a. land adjoining.
To son Ebenezer £100 out of land I bought of Samuel Sewall lying at the head of Little Pond.
To son Jonathan, same.
All rest of lands to be divided between sons, daughter Hannah Stevens.
Wife Hannah & eldest son Nehemiah executors.

removed from town about 1746 when it was voted Mar.6, 1746 (7) to allow the constable for the taxes of "Samuel Hayden late of this town" amounting to £4/9/4.
Removed to South Parish (Randolph) in 1730 on North St. near Randolph Square, from a previous homestead on Town St., So. Braintree sold in 1730 to James Penniman. He was a partner in the Land Bank of 1740.

[2246] Hampshire Deeds 37:143 - Phebe Thayer widow, quit claims her part of estate of father William Hayden of Cummington deceased, Apr. 17, 1815.

37:144 - She quit claims her 1/4 part of William Hayden Jr.'s share in estate of William Hayden, deceased, bounded west on Jonathan Hayden's heirs & on widow's thirds etc. Apr. 18, 1815.

Rev. War Pension Rec. of William Hayden W-15490 claim by widow Deborah: Enlisted at Braintree in first year of war, a private in Capt. Weld's , Capt. Gould's or Capt. Belcher's Co. in 1776 served under Col. Greaton; in 1778 was at Castle Island, also served as guard to the prisoners of Burgoynes's army held at Cambridge, was appointed lieutenant & served in Capt. Nath'l Belcher's Co. & marched to Rhode Island. Married at Braintree Deborah Noyes, intention Apr. 17, 1784 at Braintree. Wm. Hayden died in 1807 at Cummington & the widow Deborah married Jun. 30, 1808 at Braintree, Silas Wild who died there Oct. 12, 1828.

Deborah Wild was allowed a pension on the services of her former husband Wm. Hayden on her application dated Nov. 2, 1844 at which time she was aged 90 and resided in Medford, Mass.

She died Sep. 12, 1846, place not shown. She stated her first child by her marriage to Wm. Hayden was born Jan. 24, 1786, name not given. A son John resided in New York State in 1844 but does not say if he is one born 1786. In 1844 Silas Wild son of Silas Wild, husband of Deborah Hayden made affidavit in Middlesex Co.
