"John Harber, son of the widow Harber who received a wound by bullet in an engagement at the eastward lay lame several weeks of his wound, afterwards took the small pox and died Feb.4,1690" at Braintree

John Harber was one of the original proprietors of Mendon in 1663, but returned to Braintree before the Indian Wars in 1675. The Church record says "Jaiel, the wife of John Harbor Jr. dismissed to the Church of Mendon, with my own hand given to her husband, who returned to us again (now) having joined Nov.3,1673."

He resided on his father's homestead grant, took the oath of allegiance about 1678.

S.P.9-4: Jael "relict widow" made administrator of John Harbor for self and children Apr.8,1680.
