She Graduated Martinsburg, West Virginia High School, after graduating she worked G. C. Murphy Company Store, in 1945 moved to Loysville and in 1947 moved to Ephrata, Pennsylvania where she worked for Harris Department Store.

In 1923 she lived in Martinsburg, West Virginia. At her mothers death in Feb1963 she again lived in Gettysburg, Cumberland Township, AdamsCounty, Pennsylvania. In Jun of 1982 she moved in with Martha, at North Stratton Street, adjacent to the home of our immigrant ancestoras show in the following taken from the Adams Co., Pennsylvania Deed book Vol.R. R. page 233:

Henry Barbehenn and Mary Ann, his wife sold to George W. Barbehenn alot of ground in the Borough of Gettysburg , Adams County, Pennsylvania for a consideration of $200.00. It was situated beginning at a post on the west side of Stratton St. thence by lands Henry Barbehenn, north 87 degrees west, 160 ft. to a post by lands of E. S. Briedenbaugh (formely owned by Hohn H. McClellan). Apparently this was later given or sold to Edna and Frank Hower.

Died intestate, papers of settlement of the Estate by Teeter, Teeter & Teeter of Gettysburg, Cumberland Township, Adams County, Pennsylvaniaon December 10th 1991. Net proceeds for distribution to 16 relations.E. Milton Green was executor. Medically related expenses were great and seem to indicate a cardiopulmonary type of illness.

Her Will states she owned .699 acres of improved with residential at 674 Orrtanna Rd. Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania as described in Adams County, Deed Book 343 pg. 884 valued at $50,000.The funeral was held by Monahan Funeral Home.

Frank at the time of marriage, was employed by the Cloister Dairy, manufacturing ice cream in Ephrata. He attended Penn State College.Was living in Ortanna, Pennsylvania in Jun of 1982.
