He was elected fenceviewer in 1780, hogreave 1785, surveyor of highways 1789 but was excused. He lived near Common St., W. Quincy and about 1825 was working the Hitchcock Granite Quarry as it was later called.

Bought the Belcher homestead in 1759 on Franklin St. Quincy, S. of Independence Ave. where his descendants lived until 1940. "Harvey Field place".
