Text:   Letha (Johnson) Bazzell, 55, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at VIP Manor in Wood River after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 12, 1948, in Hardin, to Wilma Johnson of Grafton and the late Abner Johnson.

She was a packer in the chemical plant of Willart Home Products for 22 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Crystal Lawson of Knoxville, Tenn.; four sisters and their husbands, Virginia and Charles Wallace of Alton, Carol and Pete Slaten of Godfrey, Teresa and Kenneth Hill of Grafton and Betty and Richard Klaffer of Alton; and a brother and his wife, Don and Betty Johnson of Grafton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Charles Schwaab will officiate.

Burial will be at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Grace United Methodist Church in Alton or Elsah United Methodist Church.
